Yearly on June 26th, United Nations and humanitarian organizations celebrate, the International day against torture and in support of the Victims of torture.

June 26th is an International appeal in support of the Victims of torture, a reminder of their rights, a condemnation to violence and torture exercised against women, men and children.

On 1987, the United Nations adopted June 26th as the international day against torture. It is one of the most important days for the UN and the supporters of human rights.

We are celebrating this day together with 255 NGO operating around the glob in 90 countries, we observe this day to remind humanity of thousands subject to torture and violence. To recall in memory all those forgotten, the refugees, delinquent and exiled.

To support the Victims of torture.

To bring justice and take care of their families and children.

To banish torture and stamp it out.

To stop torture trade and to cease the export of its tools

To limit the escape from justice and to trial the authors of torture and convict them as war

criminals against humanity.

On December 10th, 1984, eve of the ratification of the convention against torture, UN former Secretary General, Mr. Javier Peres De Cuellar said: “Torture is the sleaziest acts of evil of the century, therefore this convention is so important. It is the result of significant continuous endeavors made by the UN to enhance and guarantee more respect to human rights. The International committee should once for cease torture, other cruel, inhuman and degrading actions”.

On this day, we invite all governments who did not sign yet the treaty, 6 Arab countries and 65 foreign, to do so promptly.

We urge the other signing 128 countries, including Lebanon, to abide to their signatures, to stop violence and torture considering them as humiliating acts against Humans dignity”

We call humanitarian organizations and NGOs’ to collaborate effectively on the local and international level to cease torture and to accrue endeavors to promulgate charts and conventions in favor of the imprisoned dignity, to transform prisons, torture camps and interrogatories into rehabilitation educational locals where torture have no place.

To transform them into countries where poverty, delinquency, starving, discrimination, killing, fanatics and oppression do not exist.

Into countries that respect the International Conventions relevant to Human rights, children, women and refugees.

On this day we declare our solidarity with the victims of torture around the glob.

With our detainees in the Israeli prisons.

With Victims of landmines, wounded and disabled

With disappearing

With Palestinian detainees of both genders in Israeli prisons.

With Palestinian children and citizens subject to Israeli termination war with the world deaf ear and complicity.

On June 26th we must struggle against torture. Let's appeal together, let's struggle to stamp out this evil,

and condemn his authors.

Together against torture.

Together to defend the human rights, his right to live in dignity

Let every day be June 26th.

                                                                                                                    26/06/2002.
