Concerning “United Nations International Day Against Torture”
 

Since the 26^th of June is “The United Nation International Day Against Torture” celebrated by the United Nations Agency,

And since Khiam Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture is going to commemorate this international occasion through organizing a conference against torture on the 26^th of June. The slogan of this conference is “Together Against Torture”.

And since torture is prohibited in the article four of The International Declaration for Human Rights, and in the international conventions for human rights,

The managers of the private and official schools and the educational institutions are asked to commemorate this occasion by specializing an hour to let the children be informed about the Israeli violations and illegal practices against the Lebanese citizens and civilians, and to encourage them o refuse all forms of torture and all actions that offend human’s respect. In addition, you should ask he students to participate in the forum that the center organizes in the Unesco place in Beirut, titled “Together Against Torture”, from 25/06/2003 till 30/06/2003, through encouraging them to draw portraits and writing letters inspired by this occasion in order to be showed in the mentioned forum. These portraits should be presented to Khiam Center before the 10^th of June and be signed by its painters.
