If in the morning of each day, the Israeli cluster bombs are killing and hunting a child or a farmer who is working to get his bread and food in the South, and if the fragments of the cluster bombs are targeting the human being who is approaching it, there exists more deadly cluster bombs which are targeting the Lebanese citizen in his/her village, school, university and home.
These are the sectarian cluster bombs which are lodged on daily basis the Lebanese political corrupted class and all its different wings. And if the Arab and International efforts are exerted to dismantle the first threat, the sectarian cluster bombs are dismantling Lebanon, destabilizing it and tearing its social fabric.
Any political struggle is legal in all the democratic countries but when the political classes use the sectarian stock, it stops being a political struggle, it becomes an erosion of the nation and destroying it. And there are daily facts that we do not need to aim at and all is due to the discourse and the sectarian charging for the sake of narrow political interest.
With sectarianism, the project of the International Court will fail.
With sectarianism, we can’t protect resistance.
With sectarianism, Lebanon won’t remain a united independent democratic country.
With sectarianism, Lebanon will become a grave for its citizen from all sects.
With sectarianism, there won’t be any justice or equality.
Lebanon is in danger, its safety is in danger, its unity is in danger, its independence is in danger, its social structure is in danger. all this due to the sectarian cluster bombs which are lodged daily by the rulers of this country from all side; both the loyalists to the government and its opponents using the citizens as sectarian shields to defend their principalities and their farms whereas the Lebanese are suffering from hunger, poverty, the economic crisis, and the accelerating immigration. Lebanese are loosing faith and trust in their nation.
The Khiam Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture calls upon all the intellectuals to write against sectarianism, all the democratic to wake up from their sleep to face the sectarian monster which is eating the flesh of our babies. The KRC calls upon all the lawyers, the artists, the human rights activists, all violence and torture fighters, all freedom of mind defenders…To protect our country, its unity, its stability. To protect ourselves from a war that is being ignited by the sectarian warlords using the citizens as their fuel.
We launch this appeal out loud to get out of silence, to break the silence defending our beautiful country against all the hegemony projects and custodianship whether American or Arab, against sectarianism and the hiss of its snakes.
