Within the framework of the European Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR), and as part of the implementation of the Khiam Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture for the Medical, Social, & Psychological Assistance for Victims of Torture funded by the European Union (75% of total expenses of the project, equal to 642,000 EUR), the Khiam Center announces that it has started to receive the victims of torture and detention and their families in its two centers, in Beirut and Deir Seryan, in the south.

Doctors, psychologists, and social workers receive the victims of torture and their families in both centers.
A General Health Doctor is present in Beirut center on Monday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m till 2:00 p.m while the psychologists and social workers are present at the center during the whole week from 9:00 a.m till 3:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, the center’s psychiatrists receive patients in the afternoon.
Besides that, a medical team made of doctors and psychologists and social workers receives patients in Deir seryan center on Tuesday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m till 2:00 p.m.
Furthermore, a medical team made of doctors, psychologists and social workers makes regular and continuous visits to the victims of torture and detention in the south, the north and Beirut, from Monday till Saturday each week.
Doctors and therapists visit the families of detainees tent in front of the “ESCWA” every Thursday from 11:00 a.m till 1:30 p.m.
Medical examinations, consultations and medicines offered by the center to the victims of torture and their families are for free.
